This story was really one sweet romantic read that is infused with the Nigerian culture along with some of its foods. I enjoyed how well this author writes such a well developed read that will give the reader a story of 'not only love but forgiveness, with God's unconditional love with reconciliation.' This series 'Sons of Ishmael Book I' was of Rasheed Danjuma and Ibiso JaJa. Through the read we find that both of these two will have some demons [family issues] that seem to be preventing them from coming together.

A Scoop of Love has an African setting with a spiritual theme; I LOVED. If you are looking for romance which takes the reader to several cities in West Africa infused with food and culture this is the book for you. This the first book in the Sons of Ishmael series. The focus of book one is on Rasheed Danjuma as he works hard to care for his mother and siblings. Then we are introduced to food of West Africa by Ibiso; chef and entrepreneur of Bisso Bites. Both Rasheed and Ibiso have demons that prevent both from moving forward personally.

Reading A Scoop of Love was a page turner. I was reading this book everywhere I went, definitely a page turner. The author had me feeling as if I knew Ibiso and Rasheed, I felt as if I was there with them. I enjoyed reading how Ibiso lives a life that sanctified her now husband. They both needed each other, God had worked on them both. Now I can’t wait to read part 2, which I’m going to start that tonight. I’m now a true fan of the author and her books! I would love to see this on the big screens.
